After completing all the requirement to obtain COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE, student is eligible for airline vacancies.

Depending upon the requirements of the airline, students have to take a call for going for a type rating for which vacancies are there or wait for the requirement of FRESH C.P.L HOLDERS. (airlines look for type rated as well as freshers but prefers more in number for type rated as compared to fresh CPL holders)

Approx cost is 40 to 43 lakhs for C.P.L. AND 12 to 15 lakhs for TYPE RATING. Total cost – 55 to 60 lakhs

Type rating is the training of the passenger aircraft that an airline operates.

No, it is not mandatory before the job as it depends, if airlines have jobs for type-rated CPL holders it is recommended or wait for fresh CPL holder openings.

If a fresh CPL holder is selected in an airline then the airline will charge the student for type rating and get it done under their Airline training organization.

Right now only the Spice cadet pilot programme is open but in India indigo, Air Asia also provides Cadet pilot program. Before choosing the student must study the present health of the airline, future aircraft orders, and by speaking to their existing employees as well as their Terms and conditions of their cadets thoroughly.

Yes, you can if u get physics and maths from an open school of learning ( i.e NIOS ) or any other equivalent board by DGCA. NIOS also offers exams on-demand where students can only appear for particular subjects like physics and maths on any date they wish for.

Exams can be CLEARED before or after the flying but exams need your 100 percent commitment for a minimum of 3 months to clear. That’s why it is always recommended to clear exams first (as it is the harder part as compared to C.P.L flying) then spend so much money on flight schools.

Graduation is not mandatory to be a pilot. But having graduation is an additional degree and that should not be compromised from the primary goal of becoming a pilot so if any student is interested to become a pilot, he should start with the process of becoming a pilot and simultaneously enroll himself in graduation degree from an open university ( i.e SOL SCHOOL OF OPEN LEARNING )
